The Jean E.
MacDonald Memorial Award is a $1,200 cash scholarship given annually by
Muskoka Arts & Crafts to a secondary school student from Muskoka who
is continuing with a post-secondary education in the visual arts. It also
includes a one-year membership with Muskoka Arts & Crafts and one free
entry in the Spring Members' Show
held in April.
The award was established in 1987
and is named in honour of Jean MacDonald (1928-1994). The visual arts were
Jean's first love. In supporting the visual arts, Jean exemplified the
meaning of volunteerism. From the moment she joined Muskoka Arts &
Crafts, Jean actively participated in all aspects of our organization.
