A portfolio is a visual record of your interests and explorations in the arts. It may be a collection of original work or a record of previous work through slides, photographs or photocopies.

The work contained in a portfolio should be a thoughtful selection of work that reflects your interests, explorations and skill. Applicants may include work completed in school, however, the Committee is particularly interested in seeing work that is carried out independently of the classroom.

Care should be taken that the presentation of work does not distract from the work itself. An applicant’s ability to edit his or her work is an important factor in developing a portfolio, therefore, a selection of ten to fifteen works is a requirement.

The information included about the work (written descriptions, labels, etc.) should be clear in indicating how the work was produced (i.e. whether photographs were printed by the applicant, whether videos were directed by the applicant, whether a poster was designed by the applicant, etc.). Work should be dated.
