River Race
bronze on verde marinachi (Brazilian volcanic
rock)
20"x22"x10"
| Brenda Wainman Goulet’s early years were spent in
Algonquin Provincial Park and much of her sculpture reflects those
roots. She has been acclaimed for her bronze on stone landscapes and
whimsical figures. Recently, she has received international attention
for her life size stature of Dr. Norman Bethune in Gravenhurst, Ontario
and twice life size bust of Nurse Rene Caisse (Essiac founder) in
Bracebridge, Ontario.
Her sculpture titled "Aurora" was the first chosen for
Bracebridge’s new outdoor sculpture garden to commemorate their 125th
birthday and the new millennium. In 2003, Brenda was commissioned to
create the first life size statue of the famous Canadian painter, Tom
Thomson, for a Huntsville town hall expansion.
Brenda is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and has
been sculpting for over twenty years. |
