Andrea's focus is on woodcarving although she
also enjoys drawing, woodworking, and painting. A passion
for the past inspires and often leads this young artist to carve birds, animals
and objects with an intrinsic understanding of days-gone-by. Many of her pieces are
artificially aged to suggest that they have been here for decades. Often, Andrea's carvings incorporate antique or found items in the overall design.
Inspiration is drawn from many sources including nature and the peaceful
surroundings the Muskoka area provides as well as 18th and 19th century folk art
furniture and art. Mixing the old with new ideas is an interesting challenge and
allows Andrea to use her imagination and sense of humour.
Andrea has been commissioned on a few occasions to create one of a kind
pieces for enthusiastic folk art collectors. She participates in
Muskoka Arts & Crafts' Annual Summer Show.

to take a walk in her garden and enjoy the peaceful and picturesque setting.
