David
was born in 1951 and spent much of his youth in Northern
Ontario where his love of painting began in his early
teens. His
interest in art was enhanced when, as a teenager he
happened to meet Group of Seven member A. Y. Jackson
painting in the woods of Kleinburg,
Ontario.
David’s
original artwork represents a variety of subjects
including landscapes, florals and contemporary works.
The “Lakeside” series focuses on Northern Ontario
landscapes that are rich in colour and texture.
His “Contemporary Abstract” series has
allowed him to develop a style that resembles a
“sculpture on canvas”. He paints towards a vision
using palette knives and intense, deep, rich and vibrant
colours that come alive and evoke deep emotional
responses. These
original oils are very affordable with an average price
range of $300
to $900. This
is excellent value for a one of a kind painting.
David
and his wife Carole have recently relocated to the town
of Bracebridge. “This
area offers me true inspiration for my art,
especially the Lakeside series,” said David.
