Bala's Museum with Memories of Lucy Maud Montgomery
Bala’s Museum celebrates the life and writings of Canada’s favourite author, Lucy Maud Montgomery. Since its opening in July, 1992, it has become known as one of the best Lucy Maud Montgomery museums in all Canada, attracting fans and scholars from all around the world. But Bala’s Museum is more than that. It is a wonderful family outing where children can take tours in costumes.
Bethune Memorial House - Gravenhurst
Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site of Canada commemorates the life and achievements of Dr. Henry Norman Bethune. Impatient and restless, he was inspired by a sense of duty to others and a love of the outdoors. In Bethune, these characteristics were the seeds of a battlefront surgeon, activist, humanitarian, inventor, teacher and artist. The historic site explores the roots and examines the legacy of this international hero. Dr. Bethune is most famous for the last two years of his life, which were spent in China, serving as a surgeon and teacher. Generations after his death, his story continues to be taught as an example of selfless humanitarianism to millions of Chinese students.
Dorset Heritage Museum  
The Dorset Heritage Museum features museum exhibits of early pioneer life, local settlers, traditional logging practices and historic information pertaining to pioneer settlement of the Dorset area.
Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre - Gravenhurst
Opened in 2006, The Muskoka Boat and Heritage is North America's only in-water exhibit of working antique boats. The state-of-the art exhibit captures the glory of the Muskokan experience, exploring the rich history of steamships, wooden boats and luxury hotels that helped define Muskoka.
Muskoka Heritage Place - Huntsville
Visitors to Muskoka Heritage Place - Museum, Village and Train will enjoy the Muskoka Museum, a living pioneer village, the Steam Museum and an authentic open-air coach train ride. Muskoka Museum open year-round. Village and Train open mid-May (Victoria Day) to mid-October (Canadian Thanksgiving). Village: Daily, 90 acres of pristine Muskoka with costumed narrators, 22 authentic pioneer buildings, blacksmith, farm animals, First Nations, fun hands-on family activities and demonstrations. Train: Tuesdays through Saturdays. Please call  or check website for daily schedule.
Muskoka Lakes Museum - Port Carling
The museum represents the history of the Muskoka Lakes. It is important as a cultural, historical and educational resource serving the community and tourists. The Muskoka Lakes Township heritage is presented through permanent and seasonal exhibits and programs, workshops, the adult lecture series and special events
Muskoka Rails Museum - Bracebridge
The Muskoka Rails Museum will be built on Hiram Street in much the same location as the last station was before it was torn down. It will feature the museum component as well as space for town merchants to have small kiosks for their merchandise.
Woodchester Villa - Bracebridge
The year is 1882. Henry J. Bird and his family have just moved into Woodchester Villa, their new eight-sided hill-topped home. Mr. Bird’s curiosity and farsighted approach to life probably accounted for the building of Woodchester Villa, which incorporated many innovative features of the day. Today, visitors will find their senses flooded with images from the past as they tour this designated historic house with the assistance of a museum interpreter. The museums is currently closed for repairs.


Artists of the Limberlost
The Artists of the Limberlost is a collective of artists and craftspeople with studios found along the scenic Limberlost Road, north of Hwy. 60 in Muskoka.  While the work produced by the members covers a broad range, they are united in their love of the ruggedly beautiful Canadian Shield landscape which they call home. Takes place approximately mid August.

The Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour
Ontario's original studio tour.  A free and self-directed tour of artists' studios set amidst the natural splendour of fall colours.  Takes place approximately the third weekend in September.

The Muskoka Lakes Spring Art Tour
A free, self-guided tour designed to allow visitors a chance to see the beauty of Muskoka through their own eyes and the eyes of Muskoka's many artists.  Takes place approximately the second weekend in June.
