Archives

Gravenhurst Archives
Appointments please call 705-687-3382 or submit your email inquiry.
The Gravenhurst Archive is a repository of historical material relating to the Gravenhurst area. Most is on paper, including newspaper and magazine articles, photographs, memorabilia, deeds, bills of sale.

Newspapers and census records are on microfilm, available at the library from a librarian, access via our reader-printer. Displays are changed regularly in a case on the second floor. Access to items in the repository may be obtained by completing an inquiry form, available from a Librarian.

Volunteers staff the Archive, and the results of your inquiry will be sent to you by email or regular mail, or arrangements will be made for an appointment. There is no fixed charge. We operate with a small Town grant, plus the facilities of the library.

We are always interested in materials or information in your possession that may not already be part of the Archive. Please allow us to review them, with the option of seeking a copy, or their donation to the Archive. The Library also has available, for circulation or reference, a collection of books about Gravenhurst and Muskoka, to which a Librarian can direct you.
