SureNet/Support/System Setup/Dialup Instructions - Mac OS/9
  1. From the Apple Menu select the Modem control panel from the Control Panels menu.
  2. The modem selected should be the modem you have installed (in this case we are using an iMac with the built in modem).
  3. Use the Sound option if you would like to hear indications that your modem is dialing successfully.
  4. Use the Sound option if you would like to hear indications that your modem is dialing successfully.
  5. The Ignore dial tone option should be left unchecked.
  6. After you have finished setting the various options close the window by clicking the square on the left of the menu bar.
  7. You may be prompted to save the settings. If this happens choose Save.
  8. From the Apple menu select the Remote Access control panel from the Control Panels menu.
  9. In the window that appears make sure the Registered User radio button is selected.
  10. Next enter your Net ID username in the Username box (first part of your SureNet email address). Then enter your Net ID password in the Password box. (Note: usernames and passwords must be in lowercase)
  11. Now check the box that says Save Password. This will keep you from having to enter your password every time you login.
  12. Finally enter the access number in the Number box. Refer to our Access Numbers page for the correct number.
  13. When you have entered all of the information close the window by clicking the box on the left side of the menu bar.
  14. You will be prompted to save the information. Choose Save from the window that appears when you close the window.
  15. To connect to the internet open the Remote Access control panel.
  16. Click the button that says Connect.
