- From the Apple Menu select the Modem control panel from the Control Panels menu.
- The modem selected should be the modem you have installed (in this case we are using an iMac with the built in modem).
- Use the Sound option if you would like to hear indications that your modem is dialing successfully.
- Use the Sound option if you would like to hear indications that your modem is dialing successfully.
- The Ignore dial tone option should be left unchecked.
- After you have finished setting the various options close the window by clicking the square on the left of the menu bar.
- You may be prompted to save the settings. If this happens choose Save.
- From the Apple menu select the Remote Access control panel from the Control Panels menu.
- In the window that appears make sure the Registered User radio button is selected.
- Next enter your Net ID username in the Username box (first part of your SureNet email address). Then enter your Net ID password in the Password box. (Note: usernames and passwords must be in lowercase)
- Now check the box that says Save Password. This will keep you from having to enter your password every time you login.
- Finally enter the access number in the Number box. Refer to our Access Numbers page for the correct number.
- When you have entered all of the information close the window by clicking the box on the left side of the menu bar.
- You will be prompted to save the information. Choose Save from the window that appears when you close the window.
- To connect to the internet open the Remote Access control panel.
- Click the button that says Connect.
