In his blacksmith shop on the Falkenburg Road, Jim pounds out hundreds of useful and decorative black-metal items. Jim's work bears the mark of skillful attention and craftsmanship.

Born in Brampton, Jim moved as a child to Port Carling, Ontario, and attended Bracebridge High School where he studied welding. He soon decided that manipulating hot metal would be his life's work.

Three years ago, he and his wife Lisa built their studio on Falkenburg Road. While retaining much of the nostalgia of an old-time blacksmith shop, Jim's studio is bright and neat with some modern features.

Jim is also a member of Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour.
