Gail is a self-taught, amateur wildlife
artist who uses her natural gift to create expressive wildlife portraits.
She focuses on detail for a realistic
depiction of her subject. Her emphasis is on capturing the essence of character,
personality and life within the animal's eyes. She hopes to reflect the truly
remarkable individuality each animal possesses.
The motivation for Gail's artwork is
both a personal exploration of her own creativity and a simple love of nature
and the animals that share our world that we must all respect and protect.
Having only just begun her artistic
journey, she feels each new piece gives her a better understanding of the
creative process, media and techniques.
Although acrylic is her primary medium,
she also sketches with pencil and charcoal and she is expanding her versatility
to include human and pet portraits, landscape, murals and photography.
Gail resides in Muskoka with her
family, surrounded by the exquisite beauty of nature, just beyond her doorstep.
Commissions welcome.
